ABOUT PRIORITY LABORATORY SERVICE

Dental Information Systems – Denis (Reg. no 1996/000371/1/07) is the largest independent dental claims administrator in South Africa and during the past 15 years has successfully made its mark in the South African Healthcare Industry. Denis successfully presented the concept of direct payment to labs which led to the implementation of this service that is proven and active today.

The Denis team of over 100 staff members includes full time dentists, dental technicians, oral hygienists, dental nurses, various IT programmers and more than 50 specialist call centre consultants. More than 2,000 calls daily are routed from both service providers and members to our call centre and over 100 000 dental claims are processed monthly. The technology and architecture used, has been acclaimed as the best in Africa.

The Priority Laboratory Service (PLS) offers its clients the opportunity to submit claims directly to Denis and receive faster and direct payment. Dental Labs who join the PLS may enquire in advance if patients have benefits available for the required treatment. PLS clients must submit their claims directly to Denis and will receive payment within 7-12 days after the claim has been validated against the dentist claim. PLS clients claim directly from Denis using either an electronic claims system or the Denis Secure Online Internet based claiming system.

Denis is constantly exploring new avenues to benefit our PLS clients. Not only does Denis negotiate bigger discounts on materials, but we are also investigating the feasibility of getting laboratory work from markets outside South Africa’s borders that will ultimately increase the work flow of our PLS clients. These benefits are only available to Priority Labs.

How do I join? 

• The Priority Service is only available to bona fide dental laboratories, registered at the SA Dental Technicians Council. 
• In order to register for the Priority Service, a once-off fee of R950 (Incl.VAT) is payable upon registration. This fee creates access and a secure profile to the online facility as well as creates a profile on our database which will contain your laboratory information, secure banking details, claims information, etc. 
• The cost of the Service is an administration fee of 5% (Incl. VAT) calculated only on the approved value of a claim and will be deducted from payments made to you. Denis will recover this administration fee from the regular pay runs. 
• To subscribe to this service, you can contact Denis on the provided contact numbers or print out the relevant application forms from the website.
